WHAT IS HALAL ?

Halal is an Arabic word meaning permissible. Halal certified product means that the product is permissible or acceptable under Islamic law. In order for the products or services to obtain this certificate, they must be from an acceptable source and fullfill other requirements of HALAL.

Offering halal certified products ensures that the products they use are compatible with their culture and beliefs.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE HALAL CERTIFIED ?

In addition, a different Religious Affairs expert is assigned to the certification decision committee for assuring impartiality and as a double-checking mechanism to ensure an accurate outcome of the total assessment process.

Halal Certification Process

To complete the Halal Certification process, companies must complete a three-stage process with an advisory group. This process includes:

  • Evaluation - description of the company and the need to obtain Halal Certificate
  • Assessment - on-site assessment of the plant and process
  • Certification - after the evaluation and audit is completed, the organization will be certified if the requirements are satisfied.

The demand for products produced in accordance with Islamic conditions is increasing day by day. We see that Halal Certificate, which is a kind of assurance of production according to Islamic conditions, has been questioned by Muslims in many world countries, especially in Europe, in recent years.
